Certainly video games and cinema or television have always had a special relationship, so see 5 action games that you didn't know about.
Furthermore, nowadays there is no shortage of adaptations based on games, such as Sonic, The Last of Us and Super Mario Bros.
It's coming and it's going to make this relationship stronger than ever.
But the opposite happened.
And many games find inspiration in characters and storylines on the big screen.
And we're not just talking about direct adaptation, we're also talking about inspiration to start creating something new.
Check out 5 action games you didn't know about.
Metroid – Alien
Similarly, Nintendo's famous space franchise debuted in 1986 and has as one of its inspirations the iconic science fiction film Alien from 1979.
In addition to the space theme and deadly alien creatures, both Metroid and Alien have female protagonists (in the first game this is only revealed at the end of the adventure).
Another reference is a reptilian archenemy named Ridley, who pays homage to film director Ridley Scott.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – Scarface
Initially, the Grand Theft Auto series is inspired by several pieces of cinema, especially gangster films, and the 1983 classic Scarface.
The film tells the story of Cuban refugee Tony Montana (Al Pacino) who arrives in Miami with empty pockets and accepts a small job with a drug dealer.
In a short time he rose through the gangs and his aspirations, and now he wants to reach the height of the cocaine empire and power… Does the story sound familiar to you?
Tomb Raider/Uncharted – Indiana Jones
However, Lara Croft and Nathan Drake have a lot in common: they are brave adventurers in search of lost treasure.
This is a very popular theme based on one of the characters in the film.
We are talking, of course, about Indiana Jones, who has been immortalized by actor Harrison Ford since his first appearance in 1981's Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Indiana Mother Jones became one of the most famous characters in cinema and served as inspiration for the creation of Tomb Raider in 1996 (which interestingly had a male protagonist in the initial draft, but was changed to female so as not to be “too Indiana Jones”), as well as for the creation of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, released in 2007.
Mortal Kombat – Great White Dragon
Undeniably Bloodsport, or The Great White Dragon as it is known in Brazil, was released in 1988 and is one of the most successful works of Jean-Claude Van Damme's career.
However, he demonstrated his athletic skills in a secret competition, the fine martial arts.
However, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon explained that the film and the actor himself inspired him to make the fighting game Midway.

So Boon wanted Van Damme to be the star of the play himself, but the actor's schedule prevented him from participating in the production.
This project took a new direction.
And the producers decided to satirize Van Damme with the character of Johnny Cage, the narcissistic actor known for his martial arts films.
He earned the right to a Bloodsport-inspired welcome when Cage punched his opponent in the groin.
Metal Gear Solid – Escape from New York
Renowned game designer Hideo Kojima stunned the world with the release of the first metal Gear Solid in 1998 for the PSOne.
Subtitled was the first 3D game in the franchise, as two other 2D games had been released for the MSX system before, allowing Kojima to adopt a more cinematic approach.
And one of Kojima's greatest inspirations was the science fiction classic Escape from New York, a 1981 film starring Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken.
Thus a war hero now imprisoned who is called upon to rescue the President of the United States, captured by criminals.
In addition to their Super Agent names and abilities, both characters also wear eye patches, so they share a very similar appearance.
